The further North you travel in the United States, the more likely we see asphalt. The further South, the more likely we see concrete and/or pavers. This is due to the amount of freeze and thaw cycles that occur in colder regions like New Jersey.
Asphalt is malleable, making it much more forgiving than concrete when it comes to heaving from freeze/thaw cycles. And when snow falls, the black color can soak in the sun’s heat and melt snow faster than any other type of driveway surface.
We’ve built our reputation, one driveway at a time. Please give us a call.
Our sealcoating process closes the natural pores of asphalt to protect it while also giving it a rich black satin finish that’s both aesthetically pleasing and weather resilient.
Protecting an asphalt driveway from water damage, extreme heat, erosion and cracks avoids future repairs or maintenance. Sealing also helps with the curb appearance of your house.
Depending on the quality of the job, climate factors and driveway usage, a sealed asphalt driveway can last for 15 to 20 years with normal maintenance. A driveway should be resealed every three to five years so the asphalt will remain water-resistant.
